POLICY STATEMENT

 

At Wild Paddle Berkshire we strive to give you the customer the best possible service when purchasing tours – to make it a hassle-free and enjoyable experience when buying yourself time on the water. When using our website to purchase items or services you are agreeing to be bound by the Terms and Conditions which are set out below and we ask you to tick the box which is included on the transaction window to confirm that you have read our Terms and that you agree with them.

PRIVACY STATEMENT & DATA POLICY

 

Wild Paddle Berkshire collects a small amount of data from customers and people who have demonstrated a legitimate interest in our products and services and who have shown an intent to purchase or find out more information about what Wild Paddle Berkshire provides as a business.

 

We take your privacy seriously and will only use your information lawfully to keep you informed, process your order, manage your account and to provide the products and services you have requested from us. We don’t ever share your personal data with third parties for financial gain or otherwise.

These data subjects are defined as:

  • Existing customers across the Wild Paddle Berkshire website and Online Sales

  • Prospective customers

  • Past customers across the Wild Paddle Berkshire website and online sales

  • End users who have signed up to our newsletter via the website, who have entered specific competitions or expressed interest in Wild Paddle Berkshire

  • Suppliers

  • Media contacts

  • Sponsorship, partnership and trade association contacts

 

Collecting the following data enables us to administrate sales contracts with customers, in addition to keeping all ‘data subjects’ informed of the news and developments taking place at the company through targeted and relevant marketing communications.

Our communications are time-sensitive and we ensure that our product news & special offer mailshots are occasional and not over-whelming.

 

What data do we collect and store?

We collect the following:

  • First name and surname

  • Address

  • Email address

  • Telephone number

You have the right to opt in to receive our marketing communications, and you will have exercised this right by signing up to our newsletter which is at the bottom of the Wild Paddle Berkshire homepage, requesting information or entering into a sales transaction with Wild Paddle Berkshire.

For our customers: We do not hold bank and payment details anywhere on record.  If payment details are taken, e.g. credit card payments over the phone, these are administrated using our secure card payment system immediately without the need for logging the details anywhere.

For our suppliers: In addition to the above information we hold bank and payment details. These are held securely with accounting and banking systems, with access strictly limited to relevant accounts payable staff only.

We store your personal data that is provided to us on our secure servers.

How do we use your data?

Unless you ask us not to, we use the above data to send out news and product development updates to enable you as one of our valued customers to be kept informed about the news, events and products at Wild Paddle Berkshire.

 

Only Wild Paddle Berkshire staff have access to information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact with you. We will not sell or rent this information to any third parties.

What are your rights?

You can unsubscribe to any of Wild Paddle Berkshire's email marketing mailshots at any time by either contacting the main point of contact (as shown below) or by clicking the opt out / unsubscribe button on the email marketing mailshots you receive.  The unsubscribe button will usually be located at the header or footer of the mailshot.

All data subjects have the right to be erased from Wild Paddle Berkshire’s databases, unless minimum statutory data retention regulations state otherwise.

In accordance with the GDPR, you will be entitled to:

  • The information that we hold about you.

  • The choices that are available to you regarding the use of your data.

  • Ask us to make any necessary changes to the personal data we hold

MEDICAL DECLARATION/

HEALTH & SAFETY

 

Any person having a tour must be medically fit to participate in their chosen water sport and be able to swim confidently.  If you have any medical condition or take a medication that affects the activity you must inform us and your instructor before starting any tour.

Whilst on a Wild Paddle Berkshire tour it is vital that you observe the instructors safety guidance for your safety and the safety of others.

There is an element of risk with any water sport, and the instructor is there for your safety, so their instructions must be followed to avoid exposure to any unnecessary risks.  Please ensure you declare any medical issues/medication, you are aware that your fitness is suitable for the sport you wish to try, you are capable of swimming back to your gear and must not participate in any lesson under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

TOUR BOOKINGS COMPLETED ONLINE

 

Cancellation of a tuition booking must be received in writing 15 days prior to the tour commencing, after which time clients will forefeit their course fee. Course date changes must also be made 15 days in advance in writing – this will not incur any costs.

Wild Paddle Berkshire reserves the right to cancel tours or change availability dates due to weather conditions, or any other technical issues. In these instances, alternative dates will be offered or a refund.

 

Wild Paddle Berkshire reserves the right to change lesson type from group to private if under 50% full.

We will contact you in case of adverse weather or inadequate conditions – once a tour is booked presume it will go ahead unless we contact you.

This is the nature of the sport and something we have no control on. If lessons are cancelled, we will rebook you in the next available slot.

 

There is a fee to park at Newbury Library Car Park which is not included in the Wild Paddle Berkshire tour fees.

PRICING OF TOURS

 

The prices on our website, www.wildpaddle.co.uk include VAT and are checked for accuracy. Occasionally errors may occur where prices are incorrectly displayed or changed as a result of circumstances beyond our control. In this situation you will be informed of the revised/correct prices once we receive your order, at this time should you wish not to purchase the product at that price we can cancel that part of the order.
